| Course Details: |
This two-day course is designed to help you get your work into print.
It is not an attempt to cover every aspect of writing, nor is it
possible to go into detail of the pros and cons of different types of
study design or data interpretation. Instead, the course focuses on
those basic skills common to all published work that can make the
difference between acceptance and rejection. It is designed to be interactive. A detailed workbook is provided that will hopefully act as a reminder of the critical points upon which publication is based. The course is divided into short interactive sections, each consisting of one or more brief tutorials, a series of related tasks, small group discussion and a review. There is a short piece of homework that needs to be done at the end of the first day. Many of the text examples in the workbook are taken from papers published in the British Journal of Surgery in the last few years. |
